The aim of the Library/Archive is to offer quality services related to specialized information resources for supporting Institute research, although it is open to the scientific community and anyone interested in its documentary collections.

Reading room

6,000 monographs and 500 paper magazines as well as the historical archive can be consulted in the reading room of the library. The last numbers of magazines are exhibited in the reading room.

Information and reference

Guidance on the library and its funds, the consultation of online catalogs, PAPI service (Point of Access to Providers of Information) for access to electronic resources outside the MBG, support for publication in open access (OA), access to resources…

Print and digital reproductions of documents

Digital or photomechanical copies of documents according to the regulations of the Network and current legal framework.

Personal loan of books

Loan of books is restricted to the Institute staff. Copies of the periodic publications, reference works, valuable or damaged books, monographs prior to 1940 and research works (thesis, dissertations, …) will be available instead of the originals that cannot be borrowed.

Interlibrary Service

Institute staff can have access to funds that are not in the MBG, as well as staff from other institutes can have access to funds of the MBG library following loan conditions and fares of the CSIC Library Network (REBIUN rates).

Digital.CSIC Mediated Archiving Service (SAD)

The library collaborates in the dissemination of the research results through the loading of the scientific, technical and informative production of the researchers, ensuring that the full content is accessed whenever possible.

GesBib (Bibliometric reports)

Reports and bibliometric information to support the researchers in the accreditation processes of competitive calls, and to be useful for the managers of the Institute (reports, project requests …).
