Welcome to the ‘Misión Biológica de Galicia‘. This is the oldest institute in the area of Agricultural Sciences of the CSIC and one of the oldest in Europe and the oldest institute of the CSIC in Galicia.

The history of this Institute makes it one of the unique centers and is also one of the most beautiful institutes of the CSIC.

Throughout almost 100 years of history, we have been able to capitalize on the achievements of our predecessors and incorporate harmoniously the new scientific advances.

Although we are still a small center and we have not received all the resources and investments that we could have taken advantage of, we are currently an Institute that stands out on the average of the Area in several indicators and that has a relevant scientific production and a transfer of remarkable technology.
